URBANGREEN Design is a full-service residential and commercial garden design company specializing in urban spaces including terraces, rooftops, balconies and backyards. At URBANGREEN our job is to guide clients in the creation of functional natural environments for their urban outdoor spaces. We are dedicated to working with you — how you live your life, how you socialize and share your home ensuring that when friends visit your new garden they recognize an expression of your personality; a reflection of your style, aesthetics, and sense of wonder. URBANGREEN was founded by Dennis Walker in 2004. Mr. Walker was raised on a Quarter Horse Ranch and Farm in Kansas where he learned the basics of nature’s growing process. For the last 25 years he has lived in the New York City area. Just like the company he started, Mr. Walker’s influences are manifold. His formal education is in accounting and finance and he practiced as a CPA at the beginning of his professional career. He has since had a very successful career in the fields of home furnishings and high fashion. He served as President and COO of Givenchy, USA the North American division of the famed French fashion house. He has worked with and learned from some of the most well respected names in fashion including Hubert de Givenchy, John Galliano and Alexander McQueen. He brings his practical upbringing and education and his years of personal experience with some of the most forward designers of our time to URBANGREEN. He sees the company as the natural culmination of varied life experience and sensibilities. His philosophy is rooted in the idea of practical creativity and creatively practical solutions. The continuity of his work rests in an attention to detail, discipline and uncompromising quality.
