Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Richard Cabrel has spent most of his life working with the arts. Beginning with painting lessons at the Brooklyn Museum, his passion eventually evolved into a freelance career in illustrating while working towards his arts degree at Brooklyn College.

Today, Richard makes his living as a photographer, and has five years’ worth of experience to show for it. His past work includes murals for nonprofit organizations, Sweet Sixteens, Corporate events, and even a photoshoot at a sex dungeon.

Cabral’s photography remains distinctive in its impressions from the other art forms he’s worked with, including Sci-Fi and fantasy illustrations. What makes his photography stand out is not just his aim to capture his subjects, but rather his aim to reveal them.
