Eagle-Eyed Copy Editor for The Forward, a New York's Jewish-American Monthly Magazine

I am a skilled copy editor and proofreader who has been very beneficial to my present and previous places of employment. My work ethic is great, as I go above and beyond to ensure that things get done efficiently and effectively. I have worked on various publications, both digital and print, and have also had several articles published online, via my current company and independently.

As the flagship publication morphed from a weekly newspaper to a digital first operation, along with a monthly magazine, I adjusted and adapted to all the changes, adhering to different schedules, software, and means of communication. Thanks to the economy, some staff changes had to be made, I now copy edit the print publication, and sometimes the online stories, on a part-time basis, remotely as well as on site.

Constantly scan lead stories and newsletter stories online to ensure that there are no errors and that they conform to Forward style. Copy edit all articles in a weekly print newspaper (until June 2017); copy edit all stories in a monthly
magazine. Maintain a style guide. Write short pieces for blog posts and pop culture sections; suggest ideas for story topics. Copy edit special issues, such as genetics and education, and special projects, such as the Forward 50 and the salary survey. Occasionally proofread advertising materials.
