Before founding Math, Mandarin & More, Chen spent years tutoring math and mandarin in New York, as both a learning center employee and independent contractor. Previously splitting her time as a tutor and employee at Uber’s Queens and Brooklyn offices, helping drivers troubleshoot various problems, Chen decided to fulfill her longtime dream of becoming an entrepreneur in the education industry. She is an outgoing people person who lives for the satisfaction of seeing her students’ eyes light up in those “aha!” moments of grasping an elusive new concept.

Chen was born and raised in central China’s storied Hunan Province, renowned for spicy food, Mao Zedong’s birthplace, and Zhang Jia Jie National Park’s pillar mountains – the latter of Avatar fame. She came to the US in 2014 to earn her MBA degree.

As a tutor, Chen specializes in math and mandarin for students of all ages, as well as business mandarin for professionals.
